I wasn’t feeling well yesterday so I neglected to post.
So my good friend David mentioned to me last week that Al Gore was going to be in Toronto for a speaking engagement on February 21. We were pretty gung-ho about getting tickets to see the former President Vice President (Curse those hanging Chads we could have avoided 8 years of Georg Dub).
Tickets went on sale Wednesday February 7 @ 11am through the U of T ticket web site. When I tried to access the Site just after 11am it was very unresponsive, after a few minutes of trying I came to the conclusion that the site had crashed. Being the smrt guy that I am I decided to use the phone… this was less successful. There didn’t’ seem to be a phone queue system in place.
It all became clear when I read a piece in the Toronto Star. As it turns out there were only 400 tickets available to the general public but 600 were set aside for VIPs. To that I say Boooo Hamilton VIPs. I’m totally cool with the 500 tickets set aside for the people attending the conference. Too bad, I would have like to see Al.
I know this was a weak post so get off my back.
