That is what we are paying for here in Toronto… but that is not what we are getting! Here is the kicker….. rates are going up again and the TTC have rigged the token dispeners so they won’t accept $20’s and the staff have been told to limit people to the number of tokens they can purchase.
Do I blame the TTC? YES!
Do I blame the Provincial Government? YES!
Do I blame the Federal Government? YES!
The only other transit system that I have used on any regular basis is in Boston where the Cash fare is $1.25 (that is $1.22 Canadian). This is a reasonable price unlike the $2.75 ($2.83 USD) cash fare here in Toronto. I’m sure NYC is cheaper than Toronto.
Its at the point if you have 2 or 3 people its almost as cheap to take a cab rather than pay multiple cash fares.
I don’t even want to consider the cost that the people from the burbs have to deal with when you combine TTC with GO Transit.
